The first tune this fab band played immediately transported me to Paris, cruising down he Seine, the tune was so very French and romantic. As it turned out, it was the theme tune from “Midnight in Paris”!
This was followed by some beautiful Latin American tunes from Brazil, including an original composed by Mauricio Hosi.

The evening continued with a stream of happy, infectious Latin rhythms played by this excellent septet. These were not the run of the mill compositions but fab tunes that we don’t here often.

Most of the tunes were instrumentals but occasionally they were joined by Stephanie Dick on vocals. Her lovely voice, reminiscent of Astrud Gilberto, was well suited to the band and she sang beautifully.

Throughout the evening, the blend of fabulous guitar, percussion, bass, flute together with Kay Sullivan’s expertise on the piano accordion made for a very memorable evening.
