Jo Bloomfield Quintet – Sunday 7 December 2014

Jo Bloomfield Quintet entertained guests to an evening of fantastic music with a mix of jazz standards and rocking swing and blues. The crowd loved it.
The first set opened with Lady Be Good moving onto Bei Mir Bist Du Schoen and It Had to Be You which got the crowd settled in for what was going to be a great night of entertainment. Other stand outs during the evening were It Don’t Mean a Thing with a drum solo from Pat, Si Tu Vois Ma…

Peter Baylor, who formed Ultrafox in 2008, led the way with his crisp and cruisy guitar work and a sweet vocal style that wa…s reminiscent of the late Aussie great…

This fantastic trio opened with a Steve Russell original number called Julian’s Jump. They followed up with a Duke Ellington number, Angelica then Helen sang a fab arrangement of one of my favourite Buddy Johnson compositions, My Old Flame.
This trio played a fabulous mix of instrumental and vocals from Helen and Steve. Paul stuck to his brilliant drumming.
Steve showed off his vocal prowess…
