Brisbane Jazz Club (BJC) Refund & Exchange Policy
(based on Live Performance Australia – Entertainment Code of Practice) 2014

1. REFUNDS
If the Event is cancelled or if you do not wish to attend a re-scheduled significantly relocated Event the Brisbane Jazz Club will offer you a full refund of the Ticket price.  If you are not contacted by the BJC you should apply for a refund in a timely manner – ideally within 5 working days of the Event.  Refunds only apply to Tickets that have been purchased. You are not entitled to a Refund if your Ticket was free or complimentary.

2. IF I AM ENTITLED TO A REFUND WHAT COSTS ARE REFUNDABLE?
Full refunds, when applicable, cover the entire cost of the Ticket including  all fees and charges. Partial refunds may be offered in some circumstances. Under no circumstance will the BJC reimburse you for auxiliary expenses incurred by your attendance, or non-attendance, of an event, including, cancelled, reschedules, or re-located events.  Auxiliary expenses include, but are not limited to, the cost of travel, car-parking, child-care and accommodation.   You are encouraged to obtain sufficient ticket or travel insurance cover for such expenses.

3. CAN I GET A REFUND ON MY TICKETS IF I CAN’T USE THEM?
No. Once tickets are booked they are non refundable.

4. WHEN AM I NOT ENTITLED TO A REFUND?
Patrons often mistakenly believe they are entitled to a refund. A Venue may choose to provide a discretionary refund in some circumstances but such Refunds do not arise out of any strict entitlement. To clarify common circumstances the Code sets out a list below.

(a) Event Dissatisfaction
If you apply for a Refund only on the grounds that the performance standard of the Event does or does not meet your expectations the BJC is not required to give a refund.
(b) Failure or inability to attend the Event
The BJC will  not be required to provide an exchange option or refund where you are unable to attend for reasons including illness, transport faiure or delay. or choose not to attend the original Event for which you purchased.  You are encouraged to obtain sufficient ticket or travel incurance cover for such circumstances.
(c) Late attendance
The BJC will not be required to provide an exchange option or refund where you are late to an event and are refused entry on the grounds that latecomers will not be admitted.

5. I’VE MISSED THE PERFORMANCE – WHAT CAN I DO?
Unfortunately we cannot exchange tickets from a past show. If you have missed the show you will need to purchase another ticket to see an alternative performance.

6. WHAT ABOUT CANCELLATIONS & RE-SCHEDULING THAT OCCUR DURING AN EVENT?
On occasions Events are cancelled for unforseen circumstances that arise during the Event leaving the Event uncompleted.  Occasionally such Events are re-scheduled, but often this is not possible.  If an Event is cancelled mid-event your right to a Refund, and the extent of the refund, can depend upon the nature of the event and the proportion of the Event completed.  If an Event is cancelled during its running time the BJC may determine that a partial refund applies and may provide a refund of an amount or credit that is reasonable in the circumstances, depending on how substantial an amount of the Event has been performed and the nature of the Event.

7. CAN I OFFER MY TICKET TO SOMEONE ELSE IF I CANNOT USE IT?
Yes, but you should advise the Box Office of this to avoid any complication on the day.  If they are concession tickets please be aware that they will need to be able to show proof of this concession or pay an upgrade to a full price ticket on the night.

8. CAN I EXCHANGE MY TICKET?
Exchanges are possible, subject to terms and conditions, please check with the Box Office if your question is not answered here.
All exchange requests must be made directly to the Box Office by email or telephone during advertised business hours, at least 48hrs before the show they are being exchanged for. Proof of purchase will be required before tickets can be exchanged for an alternative show.  for the supplementary charges may apply. taking into account any difference in pricing for the alternative show.  No credits or refunds of prides differences will apply to tickets exchanged for alternative show with lower admission prices. The same table location and seat numbers may not necessarily be available for the alternative show.

 9. CAN YOU RE-SELL MY TICKET ON THE NIGHT?
No we cannot as this tantamounts to a refund.
