The Brisbane Jazz Club is one of the premiere jazz venues in the country. We are dedicated to the promotion of live jazz and all funds from our volunteer managed, not-for-profit ogranisation are re-invested into the club's charter 'promoting the enjoyment of live jazz'. The Brisbane Jazz Club presents professional acts from Brisbane, Queensland, interstate and overseas. Bands performing for our audiences on a regular club night have proven performance histories, high quality promotional material and at least one professional quality recording of their work.
Bands not known to the Brisbane Jazz Club are asked to provide the following when enquiring about being booked at the club: 1. A list of venues and/or festivals played in the last 12 months. 2. A quality recording of the band's work. 3. Promotional photography used in marketing material. For bands who are classed as 'emerging artists' we host a number of events to encourage them in their work including the monthly house band jam and youth initiatives like Talkin Jazz (for high school students) and the Young Jazz Recording Prize (for musicians under 26).
