Performance Times
From 1 June 2007, the Brisbane Jazz Club will trial a new performance schedule for Friday and Saturday nights. Bands will continue to play from 7.30pm and will smooth out the end of the night with a more acoustic set from 10pm - 11pm. The acoustic set will explore the moody end of the dynamic spectrum that is jazz with an emphasis on ballads, lounge jazz and piano-bar style tunes. Acoustic guitars, piano, voice and light solo instruments (flute, violin) will have the chance to feature in this bracket.
This trial is one of the club's creative solutions to ongoing noise issues. By finishing the night on a more low key note we will be meeting the post 10pm noise limits of our Liquor License and we hope to see a more steady exit of patrons instead of a mass exodus when the full band finishes. I would also take this opportunity to remind members and their guests to please be aware of our residential neighbours when leaving the club. Please refrain from sounding your horn and do keep farewell noise to a minimum in the carpark. With your help we can continue to work in harmony with our neighbours and Liquor Licensing while still giving you the best experience of live jazz in Brisbane.
